Independent Evaluation of the Accelerating Sanitation and Water for All Programme (ASWA II)

ASWA II was a successful programme that met the output targets. Substantial progress was made in improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in communities and institutions. ASWA II contributed to sustained use of the services. Systems strengthening and monitoring need to be further strengthened. More needs to be done for the poorest households and for full gender equality.
